The finest wine.

They said that men are like fine wine, they get better in time. I couldn't agree more. Being with Waldy for almost 7 years is not too long compared to others, but I can definitely say that this simile definitely applies to him.  2016 was such a challenging time for the both of us in all aspects of our lives. I've seen him struggle with personal issue and his career. I've been with him on his downest moment and still is present beside him today as we face a new year full of hope and renewed goals. It wasn't easy, but its all worth it. Seeing him commit mistakes and get back up after being down doesn't make me a better person than him, but it made me realized that I am also brave and strong. Because it takes a lot of courage and faith to hone a great man. As the other saying goes : " Every great man is a great woman. " So, I guess I can say that its a win-win for us. As we move along with life, we mold each other into a person th...

KATHRYN AND LIZA’S KITCHEN BEST FRIEND

The kitchen used to be a scary place for young people and cooking was a daunting task reserved for mothers and household helps. But technology played a role in guiding people around the kitchen. Nowadays, new cooks search online for cooking videos or check out “food hacks” to be able to produce any dish they want that they can, in turn, show off on social media. Young celebrities Kathryn Bernardo and Liza Soberano also enjoy cooking for their loved ones. They are the newest tandem to endorse AJI-NO-MOTO® Umami Seasoning. Apart from what can be found in the Internet, Kathryn and Liza became more confident cooks because they can rely on a brand of seasoning to make delicious home-cooked dishes by bringing out the natural goodness of food. Experienced cooks or kitchen newbies can make AJI-NO-MOTO® their best friend in the kitchen – an ally in serving nourishing and enjoyable dishes for the whole family. The new AJI-NO-MOTO® TV Commercial features three (3) dishes to show the...

Vita Cubes 2Good Moment

It was an awesome afternoon at Active Fun Bonifacio yesterday, as we celebrated Vita Cubes 2Good Fun Day! It was my first time to attend an event with Mommy Bloggers Philippines and met other seasoned and newbie bloggers just like me. Waldy, Yuri and I had so much fun going around the party, joined games, watched the magic show and ate a hearty merienda. It was made even better as we got to bring home lots of goodies from Vita Cubes and got a pass for an hour of play at Active Fun for free! Prior to the event, Izhi already introduced Vita Cubes to me as she started including it to her baon list. I never really paid attention to it since I thought it was just another candy she tasted from her classmate. What surprised me was that this cubed-shape jelly candies are fortified with essential vitamins and minerals that are important for growing kids. It’s more like giving vitamins hassle-free to our kids who most of the time don’t like the traditional medicine taste of vitami...

Pioneer St. Market Halloween Party

Every October, its Izhi and I’s tradition to plan for her Halloween costume. It’s just a bit different this time since her papa just got better from sickness and Yuri already started a mild fever with cough and colds, add the fact that we still don’t have a party to attend to. So it was a bit of a cram when Ate joy invited us to go to Pioneer St. Market’s very first Halloween party. Pioneer St. Market just opened last year and they are now a go-to place for all things gourmet such as pastas, burgers, fruit juices and organic fruits and vegetables that families can feast on. It was a fun-filled afternoon packed with family activities such as Pumpkin Carving contest, Best Family Costume, the traditional trick’r treating that the kids loved, face painting. There were parents activities that we also enjoyed like Toddler house classes, Breastfeeding classes, Pre-natal and Post-natal Exercise classes. I borrowed my Ate Joy's video of the event since we came a bit late....

Lily's Peanut Butter in Lite Version

I grew up eating Lily's Peanut Butter so I'm happy that there's a lite version now for older people like me.  People are becoming more and more aware of the health value of the things they eat and drink. And by the looks of things, this emphasis on health is becoming more than just a simple fad; health consciousness is here to stay. Lily’s Peanut Butter, already 60 years in the industry, saw this rise in health consciousness, and has adapted accordingly through the peanut butter that has become a staple of many a Filipino household. After more than half a century of winning Filipino palates, Newborn Food Products Inc., the maker of Lily’s Peanut Butter, launched its newest product line, Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite, last August 14 at the Lily’s Lite in the City event, held at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City. The whole-day event, hosted by athlete-turned-celebrity-host Gretchen Ho, actor-model CJ Reyes, and singer-model John Pol Dimaculanga...

Spring hangover all-year

I didn't know that there are lots of videos in youtube about unboxing or more like cracking eggs with bits of surprises inside. If I had know that these videos would attract many kids, I would have uploaded Izhi's homemade egg-hunting experience a long time ago. I tried looking for online shops who sells these kind of chocolate eggs, and found out that it was unreasonably expensive. Like its P150 for 2 pieces of eggs, and I'm like what! So I did not continue with the purchase, instead I asked Waldy if he can find small eggs in the market with candies inside. Unfortunately, it was out of stock that day.  Last night, we went at Ate Joy's house for Kuya John's birthday dinner, and I told her that Yuri is so into eggs lately because of these videos that he keeps on playing with the marbles egg decorations in their house. Luckily, she saved some of the eggs from their previous egg-hunt and gave it to Yuri. So today, I bought some small toys like cars and motor...

Cakes and Us

I remember ate Joy saying that we need to have separate time for each of our kids. Back then, I didn't really pay too much attention since Izhi is my only child and we spend most of our time together, eating out, playing, watching movie, reading, shopping and the need to catch up on each other is far from our mind. We enjoyed each other's company for 9 years and I love the fact that I gave her all the attention and love that she needs. Enter Yuri in our lives, and the whole story changed.  Our mommy-daughter bonding became less and less because of added responsibility on my side. Being busy all day with my occasional projects, house chores, cooking, my routine task for Yuri, helping her with assignments. Most days, we only have a few minutes to sit and talk about her day. I listen to her when she raves about how productive she was at school, the good things she did, her friends, even when she rants about her classmates that she dislike. These days, going out with her...

Waldy's craving for Batchoy Tagalog

Its been 2 consecutive Saturdays that we're having Batchoy Tagalog for dinner ( and lunch the other day ). Waldy kept bugging me to cook this dish again, as he's been craving for its sabaw.  When you think about this dish or hear the dish name Batchoy, what comes in mind is how complicated it is to cook. I have to thank Google and those Filipino cooking sites for making life easier for me, as I just have to follow every steps and ingredients to make such a dish.  The first time I tasted this dish was in the home of my friend, Coun. Don De Leon of Quezon City. However, I can't remember if he calls the dish the same name as indicated in the net. What's clear to me is that he told me that the formula to make the soup very savory is, he uses a bit of Bagoong isda and kutsai.  What in the world is kutsai? Is it the same as kinchay? What does it look like and why is it so special? These questions are exactly asked by Waldy when I was giving him the list of the in...

Anniversary Surprise

It came as a surprise. Saturday, June 11 was supposed to be just another weekend for us, staying with ate Joy and her family. We attended an event in the morning when she told me to get ready because we are going to Tagaytay for an overnight. At first, I thought we would just be sharing a family room, since this "biglaang-lakad" was very unplanned. But then, the manager of the hotel that we heading to texted her that we would be in a separate room and that it is ready and apologized for the double room she was placing us. I'm like, " what? why is she apologizing? She's giving us a big favor and she's saying sorry? ". It was one of the greatest anniversary gift for Waldy and I. We've been to Tagaytay many times, but this was our first overnight stay! We were so excited to see the place, and boy it's amazing! View Park Hotel has one of the amazing view of Taal lake. Its not easy to find since the place sits just across Picnic Grove. I...
