Anniversary Surprise

It came as a surprise. Saturday, June 11 was supposed to be just another weekend for us, staying with ate Joy and her family. We attended an event in the morning when she told me to get ready because we are going to Tagaytay for an overnight. At first, I thought we would just be sharing a family room, since this "biglaang-lakad" was very unplanned. But then, the manager of the hotel that we heading to texted her that we would be in a separate room and that it is ready and apologized for the double room she was placing us. I'm like, " what? why is she apologizing? She's giving us a big favor and she's saying sorry? ".

It was one of the greatest anniversary gift for Waldy and I. We've been to Tagaytay many times, but this was our first overnight stay! We were so excited to see the place, and boy it's amazing! View Park Hotel has one of the amazing view of Taal lake. Its not easy to find since the place sits just across Picnic Grove.

I think, the room we stayed-in that night was their double-room. Like all hotels, its equipped with a phone connected to the reception, a cable TV, hot and cold shower, etc. I loved that the bed smell so good that I immediately felt the need to sleep since I only had 2 hours of sleep the other night. I also love the fact that the place has a serene vibe, even though it is located near the highway. the noise of the vehicles passing by never bothered us.

We also enjoyed swimming in the pool which I expected to be cold since hey, its Tagaytay and the weather is always cold right? But surprisingly, the pool is warm enough that even my toddler swam for almost 2 hours, We were also given complimentary breakfast buffet of traditional Filipino almusal such as sinangag, daing na bangus, tapa, longganisa egg, coffee and some western dish like pancakes, toasted bread with jam and fruits. Our belly was so full that we skipped lunch that day.

Thank you so much View Park Hotel for having us. It was such an wonderful experience and a very amazing anniversary gift that we enjoyed so much!

Lily's Peanut Butter in Lite Version

I grew up eating Lily's Peanut Butter so I'm happy that there's a lite version now for older people like me.  People are becoming more and more aware of the health value of the things they eat and drink. And by the looks of things, this emphasis on health is becoming more than just a simple fad; health consciousness is here to stay. Lily’s Peanut Butter, already 60 years in the industry, saw this rise in health consciousness, and has adapted accordingly through the peanut butter that has become a staple of many a Filipino household. After more than half a century of winning Filipino palates, Newborn Food Products Inc., the maker of Lily’s Peanut Butter, launched its newest product line, Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite, last August 14 at the Lily’s Lite in the City event, held at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City. The whole-day event, hosted by athlete-turned-celebrity-host Gretchen Ho, actor-model CJ Reyes, and singer-model John Pol Dimaculanga...

Learning Made Extraordinary!

Every school break, we find it hard to look for an interesting summer program where Izhi would be interested in. I tried ballet for her when she was 6, but dancing isn't her first love. We suggested that she try basketball, swimming, theater and so on to no luck.  However, several schools who gave them computer knowledge test, visited us at home and offered a discount for us to enroll Izhi to their basic programming workshop. Apparently, Izhi has achieved high marks on their exams and is offering us a discount upon enrolling. We discussed the matter and decided to decline since we think that she will just forget the lessons since she won't be doing it often. We are looking for something that will bring out the creativity in her. We were invited to a one day free workshop at SparkleLab where we can try their programs. I must say I was impressed! The place was laid-back kinda homey where strange and wonderful things happen. There were Lego's, sewing kits, code, motor...

A Tribute to all Supermoms

I never realized how hard being it is to be a mom, until I became one. The thing is, our mom passed away when I was 8 years old. I was the youngest of six brood and never get to spend that much time to get to know mama. Then Tita, our stepmom, came along when I was 11. She helped our father raise us. She taught me to love unconditionally, by loving us as her own. I was blessed to have two wonderful mother. The one who carried with in her belly for 9 months and brought me out into this world, and breastfed me for almost 5 years. And the one who took care of me and raised me to be the woman and a mother I am today. As a mother, it was an honor to be invited to the launch of SM Supermalls' National Supermom's day.  SM Supermalls Senior Vice President for Marketing, Jonjon San Agustin spearheaded the event with a wonderful remark: " Mother's Day is the best time of the year to thank our mom's for all their dedication and hard ...
