They said that men are like fine wine, they get better in time. I couldn't agree more. Being with Waldy for almost 7 years is not too long compared to others, but I can definitely say that this simile definitely applies to him.
2016 was such a challenging time for the both of us in all aspects of our lives. I've seen him struggle with personal issue and his career. I've been with him on his downest moment and still is present beside him today as we face a new year full of hope and renewed goals.
It wasn't easy, but its all worth it. Seeing him commit mistakes and get back up after being down doesn't make me a better person than him, but it made me realized that I am also brave and strong. Because it takes a lot of courage and faith to hone a great man. As the other saying goes :
" Every great man is a great woman. "
So, I guess I can say that its a win-win for us.
As we move along with life, we mold each other into a person that we truly are. We challenge each other to be better. We argue, we fight, I get annoyed, but at the end of the day, what really count is how we love each other.
I feel like a vintner. Working double time to create the best fine wine. From picking out the finest grape with utmost care, to stomping on it with all the love, and enthusiam, and onto his fermentation stage. It makes me so excited to taste the reward of all these labor which takes so much time and patience.
So Badge, I hope you'll read this. Thank you for being my everything. Looking forward to the 364 days of 2017 with you.
I love you.
Cheers and Happy New year to everyone, from Waldy and I!
a happy new year to you and your family. I love that simile. I guess it also applies to my husband who improves through time. Indeed time is our ally, we just need to wait and be patient.
ReplyDeleteI guess all men are like that, just like women, they bloom in their own time.
DeleteNice post. I love the idea that we can stomp on our man to make them better- talking about girl power here..hehe. Kidding aside, any relationship has its ups and downs and highs and lows- and it is really up to both parties to deal with it in complete unison to make things work. Glad to know you and your other half are working together towards building your family. Happy New Year and may 2017 be filled with blissful moments. (macy)
ReplyDeleteWe had a rough start since he was a gimikero before I came, and I naman is a singlemom. That's why I'm proud to be with him as he embrace the life that we have right now.
DeleteI "slap" my husband from time to time. Hahaha! Kidding aside, I love to read posts like this. My husband sometimes think we're the only social media affectionate pair. My husband is Italian American and there are so much adjustments that happened along the way. Our nomadic life brought us to different countries and cities which tested our relationship, most especially our patience for each other. I love how you put it that as you move along with your lives, you mold each other to be the person that you truly are. :) Have a wonderful 2017 dear!
ReplyDeleteI heard Italian-american are romantic, is that true? "Slapping" daw is part of the foreplay, kaya it makes it more exciting hahaha!
DeleteHappy new year! I thought that metaphor was for women? Haha! But anyway, I'm sure your man makes up for everything he'd done despite the challenges. Honestly, that's how we learn. They say married life is best well spent with someone who've seen you at your worst and still loves you, and that my dear is your best friend :)
ReplyDeleteI guess it goes both ways for men and women. And yes, he's doing alright now, shook off the bad habits. Hahaha! Thank you!
DeleteMore love and happiness to you and your family this 2017. Us wives play a vital role in our husbands' success. We are the ones who can lift up their spirit and give honest feedback for their development. Btw, I love your and your daughter's dress :)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to your and your loved ones! I'm happy you have someone you are definitely in love with, someone you know will be with you no matter what. Your post reminds me of my husband, now I miss him even more. He works abroad.
ReplyDeleteI always believe what makes or breaks a man are then women behind him. Always strive to be best vinter for your husband and your family. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I agree with you. They do get better in time. I suppose, it's from all the wisdom and experience acquired through the years. :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your partner a blessed 2017. I hope it'll be better than last year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! That's true. I feel like men gets better as they age, not only mentally but also physically. They also become more dependable and comfortable to be around. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to your family! Well life is really not easy but as long as we have our family with us, everything is worth every difficulties that we encounter in life.
ReplyDeleteI agree! A wine that needs moreeee time to reached maturity to be at its best.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you dear and your family. Your husband is lucky to have you, your such a woman that encourage your man. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThey say you can get to know a person when you started living together. True enough :)) Happy New Year to you and your family :)
ReplyDeleteWe are our husbands' biggest influence, whether we believe it or not. We make or break them and we are their biggest weakness. So it's either we take our place as their partners and support them, or we push them down. I like this blog and I admire how you love your husband. Not too many women have that kind of strength.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote. Ganyang ganyan ang husband ko. It took us years to really know each other. We were steady for 5 years imagine, before we got married but still when we married, ang dami pa rin naming differences. But with God's blessing, everything settled. He is my fine wine and I am his. Cheers to the love of our lives!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't easy, but its all worth it. Seeing him commit mistakes and get back up after being down doesn't make me a better person than him, but it made me realized that I am also brave and strong. Because it takes a lot of courage and faith to hone a great man. - This is so true! And as wives we are created to help them and submit to them. My husband is in the first stage, I guess hahaha! But I am praying and I know that it'll be worth it :)
ReplyDeleteWow, stomping - I've never thought of it that way before but it does make sense. I do think that my hubby is a lot better than he was before. I'll take credit for some of that but a lot of it, I think, also comes from becoming a father. :)
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely wonderful it is to have a "fine wine" at home! Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteYour post honestly gave me hope for my husband. Hahaha! Don't get me wrong - he really is a kind man. Pero he can be insensitive and immature at times which I think is normal kasi young couple kami and we got married at our early 20s. Nevertheless, I love him still. And I know maswerte rin ako. :) Happy new year sa inyo sis! And sana mas maging loving pa kayo sa isa't isa as time goes by. <3
ReplyDeleteNot being married, I couldn't really relate to this but seeing my mom and dad go through all the tough times together before my dad passed away a few years ago, I would have to agree, people do get better with time, just like wine. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with that! Men bloom in time..just like women. That was so sweet of you... have a blessed new year ahead!
ReplyDeleteThis is sweet! I wish you more happy years together! Happy new year to you, too!
ReplyDeleteAs time passes by, I also see that my husband gets better in every aspect of life. I guess we should just be thankful to God that He gave us the best. Yiiii... :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet hihi I hope one day I could find the courage to write something for my husband too. I'm sure he will be touched...
ReplyDeleteThis is so true that's why I consider my husband as my eldest child who also needs my full attention and love :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and cheers to a bountiful year that's full of love.
