Pagganunita sa Ika-119 taon ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas


"Ako ay Pilipino, taas noo kahit kanino."

Kahapon ay ating ginunita ang ika-119 na selebrasyon ng ating Kalayaan. Naghandog ang SM Supermalls sa tulong ng National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) ng natatanging konsert at exhibit upang ipakita ang natatanging talento ng iba't-ibang Filipino sa larangan ng Architecture and Allied Arts, Cinema, Sayaw, Pag-arte, Pagsulat, Pagtugtog at Visual Arts. 
Ani ng Dangal or "Harvest of Honors" ay isang rekognisyon na ibinibigay ng NCCA sa mga natatanging Pilipino na may angking eksepsyonal na talento at nakilala sa kanilang larangan. 

Kabilang din sa selebrasyon ang maikling konsyerto na ginanap sa SM City North Edsa. Ito ay upang buhayin muli ang ating alaala sa pamamagitan ng pagkanta at pagsayaw. Pinangunahan ng tanyag na Filipinong musikero na si Mr. Joey Ayala na nagbigay ng maikling aral tungkol sa orihinal na pinagmulan ng ating Pambansang Awit. Sinundan ng pagtatanghal ng Kontra Gapi na pawang mag-aaral ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas na ipinamalas ang kanilang galing sa pagtugtog gamit ang mga etnikong instrumento at pagsayaw sa katutubong tugtog nito. At tinapos ng Junior New System ang programa sa kanilang nakaindak na pagsayaw.

In line with Safeguard's 50th year tradition of  hand washing education to prevent diseases and save lives, they led a movement to healthier Philippines through the Global Handwashing Day (GHD) celebration at Baseco Compound in Manila last October 12.
