GWD   is   an   entirely   not-for-profit   day,   a   social   project   created   by volunteers dedicated to living well. The purpose of Global Wellness Day is to ask the question, even if for just one day, "How can I live a healthier and better life?", to direct the thoughts of both individuals and society towards “living well” and to raise awareness.

Global Wellness Day was established in Turkey as the “first” day dedicated to living well, and has now been accepted world-wide.  It is officially celebrated on the second Saturday of June every year in 7   continents.  This year  it was celebrated in 83   countries   with   86 ambassadors thus reflecting its success.

To  get   one   step   closer   towards   living   well,   let   our   manifesto   be   your starting point.   In order to make Wellness a lifestyle, Global Wellness Dayaims to adopt the following seven simple steps. What is important is not to implement all of the steps all at once, but to incorporate at least just a few ofthem into your daily life on a regular basis.

GWD 7 STEP MANIFESTO
1- Walk for an hour.
2- Drink more water.
3- Don’t use plastic bottles.
4- Eat organic foods.
5- Do a good deed.
6- Have a family dinner.
7- Sleep at 10:00 PM

GWD Philippines is also involved in the annual National Wellness Day festivities of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) on June 30 at the Mall of Asia, where member companies will exhibit and showcase their corporate wellness efforts.  They will also have various wellness speakers, health tests, and fitness classes for the general public to enjoy.

Lily's Peanut Butter in Lite Version

I grew up eating Lily's Peanut Butter so I'm happy that there's a lite version now for older people like me.  People are becoming more and more aware of the health value of the things they eat and drink. And by the looks of things, this emphasis on health is becoming more than just a simple fad; health consciousness is here to stay. Lily’s Peanut Butter, already 60 years in the industry, saw this rise in health consciousness, and has adapted accordingly through the peanut butter that has become a staple of many a Filipino household. After more than half a century of winning Filipino palates, Newborn Food Products Inc., the maker of Lily’s Peanut Butter, launched its newest product line, Lily’s Peanut Spread Lite, last August 14 at the Lily’s Lite in the City event, held at the Trinoma Activity Center, Quezon City. The whole-day event, hosted by athlete-turned-celebrity-host Gretchen Ho, actor-model CJ Reyes, and singer-model John Pol Dimaculanga...

Learning Made Extraordinary!

Every school break, we find it hard to look for an interesting summer program where Izhi would be interested in. I tried ballet for her when she was 6, but dancing isn't her first love. We suggested that she try basketball, swimming, theater and so on to no luck.  However, several schools who gave them computer knowledge test, visited us at home and offered a discount for us to enroll Izhi to their basic programming workshop. Apparently, Izhi has achieved high marks on their exams and is offering us a discount upon enrolling. We discussed the matter and decided to decline since we think that she will just forget the lessons since she won't be doing it often. We are looking for something that will bring out the creativity in her. We were invited to a one day free workshop at SparkleLab where we can try their programs. I must say I was impressed! The place was laid-back kinda homey where strange and wonderful things happen. There were Lego's, sewing kits, code, motor...

A Tribute to all Supermoms

I never realized how hard being it is to be a mom, until I became one. The thing is, our mom passed away when I was 8 years old. I was the youngest of six brood and never get to spend that much time to get to know mama. Then Tita, our stepmom, came along when I was 11. She helped our father raise us. She taught me to love unconditionally, by loving us as her own. I was blessed to have two wonderful mother. The one who carried with in her belly for 9 months and brought me out into this world, and breastfed me for almost 5 years. And the one who took care of me and raised me to be the woman and a mother I am today. As a mother, it was an honor to be invited to the launch of SM Supermalls' National Supermom's day.  SM Supermalls Senior Vice President for Marketing, Jonjon San Agustin spearheaded the event with a wonderful remark: " Mother's Day is the best time of the year to thank our mom's for all their dedication and hard ...
