July was the most challenging month for us as a family. Rainy season has begun and of course, along comes influenza virus everywhere.

Izhi caught the virus first since she' more exposed to the outside community. Add to the fact that she's busy with school and Karate training, she's more prone to germs and viruses.

I later realized that staying indoors doesn't necessarily mean that we are safe from all the germs and the illnesses that goes with it.

After a week, Yuri caught the fever, cough and flu which developed to a serious bronchitis. To make the situation worst, Yuri also caught Dengue Fever!

I had posted about this on my FB page, https://www.facebook.com/lizziethebusybee/, where I asked for prayers for Yuri since we were admitted to the hospital already that time. As a mother, it breaks my heart to see my children went through this. It pains me to look at their troubled faces as they sleep restlessly through the night. We both struggled. On my part, since I have to constantly check on them from time to time. Check temperature. Have them drink medicines. Sponge bath. Repeat.

Did you know that many objects inside our house are actually germ infested? What's worse, some germs find humid weather a perfect environment to grow even faster. Say, for example, this laptop that I'm currently using; there are billions of germs stuck in it which aren't visible to the naked eye and is contaminating my hands. Now if I touch Yuri's food and not wash my hands, imagine all those icky germs getting into his system.

These are petri dishes with cultured germs inside. First dish shows a regular hand with germs. Second dish shows what a hand with bacteria looks like when we touch or prepare chicken. And lastly, what our hands look like after washing Safeguard's Pure White Hand Wash.

After all these ordeal, I became obsessed in maintaining my hands and home clean. I also teach my kids and Waldy how to properly wash hands and to make sure they use Safeguard's Pure White Liquid Hand Soap.

Izhi has very sensitive skin that's why I'm loving Safeguard's Pure White Body Wash due to its gentleness on skin that she's using it now after her Karate Training. Waldy also has one on his Basketball bag so he can wash his body with it after a game or two.

Safeguard Global Handwashing Day 2017

In line with Safeguard's 50th year tradition of  hand washing education to prevent diseases and save lives, they led a movement to healthier Philippines through the Global Handwashing Day (GHD) celebration at Baseco Compound in Manila last October 12. It has been discovered that Filipinos touch more than 23 other people per day, summing up to more than 90 ‘touches’ a day on average. However, they wash our hands only 5 times a day! There are other shocking findings that show opportunities for improvement on handwashing habits particular on specific occasions: After using the toilet: ·          7 out of 10 Filipinos CLAIM to wash their hands after using the toilet but—ONLY 2 out of 10 really do. ·          A shocking 64% of Filipinas DO NOT wash their hands at all after using a mall toilet. Before eating and cooking: ·          It was observed that 60%...
