Be our Guest!

We all have our favorite Disney Princess' movies, our most loved characters and the most hated villains.

Mine was and still, The Beauty and the Beast. I guess its the fact that Belle is such a dreamer like me, loves to read and imagine far-off places and different adventures. And its not only that, because the story is about learning to love despite appearance.

In a superficial age like we have today, its hard to find and learn to love someone who is not pretty, handsome, sexy or hot. Its difficult to appreciate someone who we think is below our superficial standards. Almost all  young relationships today are based on looks, on standards that are set by telenovelas, koreanovelas, and social medias. Younger generation does not know how and what to really look for in a person, this is the reason why many relationships fail.

I, myself is also guilty of this. When I was young, I always imagine myself being with a handsome and rich guy. But, as I go along my journey, I realized that what really matter is how that person will treat you. How your conversations will be like. How he smiles when that person sees you. How opposite you are but is still madly in-love with each other, so on and forth. I could go on and on, but I won't because its late as of writing this.

The story of Beauty and the Beast hits the spot for me. Its simple, classy and possible.

I was expecting to watch this after my birthday on Thursday with Izhi, but my Ate Joy surprised me. Credits to Ms. Mico of SM. It was an awesome experience to watch my favorite Disney love story on a big screen with all the other celebrities that I only get to see on TV. Feeling ko tuloy celebrity din ako. Hahaha!

Beauty and the Beast will be showing on March 16 at all SM malls.

Lock&Lock's "National Pa-Baon Month"

It took my sister, Ate Joy of www.occasionsofjoy.com long years to persuade me in creating and publishing my own blog. I created several  blog accounts before, but I quickly lost interest in updating it or not really posting anything at all. So this time, I told her I’d be serious and follow her footsteps. After all, she made herself quite famous by blogging just about anything that comes into her mind! Hehehe! At first, I wasn’t that interested since I was working and does not have the time to really sit down and write something. This time however,  I decided that I will start blogging to maximize my time and keep myself busy since I have stopped working and currently (and proudly!) a stay-at-home mommy since 2014. Finally last week, I attended global brand Lock&Lock, a leader in food container technology, as they declare June 2016 as their first “National Pa-baon Month”. As a mom, this is very applicable since I have a 5 th grader who brings her own baon to sc...

Waldy's craving for Batchoy Tagalog

Its been 2 consecutive Saturdays that we're having Batchoy Tagalog for dinner ( and lunch the other day ). Waldy kept bugging me to cook this dish again, as he's been craving for its sabaw.  When you think about this dish or hear the dish name Batchoy, what comes in mind is how complicated it is to cook. I have to thank Google and those Filipino cooking sites for making life easier for me, as I just have to follow every steps and ingredients to make such a dish.  The first time I tasted this dish was in the home of my friend, Coun. Don De Leon of Quezon City. However, I can't remember if he calls the dish the same name as indicated in the net. What's clear to me is that he told me that the formula to make the soup very savory is, he uses a bit of Bagoong isda and kutsai.  What in the world is kutsai? Is it the same as kinchay? What does it look like and why is it so special? These questions are exactly asked by Waldy when I was giving him the list of the in...

A Tribute to all Supermoms

I never realized how hard being it is to be a mom, until I became one. The thing is, our mom passed away when I was 8 years old. I was the youngest of six brood and never get to spend that much time to get to know mama. Then Tita, our stepmom, came along when I was 11. She helped our father raise us. She taught me to love unconditionally, by loving us as her own. I was blessed to have two wonderful mother. The one who carried with in her belly for 9 months and brought me out into this world, and breastfed me for almost 5 years. And the one who took care of me and raised me to be the woman and a mother I am today. As a mother, it was an honor to be invited to the launch of SM Supermalls' National Supermom's day.  SM Supermalls Senior Vice President for Marketing, Jonjon San Agustin spearheaded the event with a wonderful remark: " Mother's Day is the best time of the year to thank our mom's for all their dedication and hard ...
