Anniversary Surprise

It came as a surprise. Saturday, June 11 was supposed to be just another weekend for us, staying with ate Joy and her family. We attended an event in the morning when she told me to get ready because we are going to Tagaytay for an overnight. At first, I thought we would just be sharing a family room, since this "biglaang-lakad" was very unplanned. But then, the manager of the hotel that we heading to texted her that we would be in a separate room and that it is ready and apologized for the double room she was placing us. I'm like, " what? why is she apologizing? She's giving us a big favor and she's saying sorry? ". It was one of the greatest anniversary gift for Waldy and I. We've been to Tagaytay many times, but this was our first overnight stay! We were so excited to see the place, and boy it's amazing! View Park Hotel has one of the amazing view of Taal lake. Its not easy to find since the place sits just across Picnic Grove. I...

Story of Us

Update : This is posted late because of some unforeseen (wow) event. Our anniversary was on June 9. Let me tell you a story. Should I start from the beginning, the middle or from present to the past? I know many of our closest friends have heard our story. How we met, when we met, where we met and so on.. I have to give credit to Facebook first. Its where we met. However jologs Facebook has become, I’m thankful that it did exist! ( Thank you Mark!) Waldy and I has so many mutual friends; his highschool classmates, my college batchmates, his college batchmates. Funny how a world so big, seemed small because of this platform. I remember our first date, (” eyeball “  kumbaga). It was such a beautiful day, and I was eternally late. We went to Tagaytay, had Bulalo at Leslie’s, my first Melona ice pop, this is also the time I discovered that he’s not fond of popsicles because it hurts his teeth. And then, we went to church! I know, it’s corny right? But we did. This ...

Bing Loyzaga's Journey with Marie France

It was my privilege to be a part of an intimate meet and greet with Bing Loyzaga especially because the event was an intimate interview with Bing. (All photos courtesy of Occasions of Joy ) Bing has had her share of ups and downs when it comes to her weight, especially being in an industry that constantly expects one to look good and be in great shape. So in her late 30s, she had liposuction done on her arms and legs. “When you see yourself in the mirror at home after the procedure, yes you're thin. But when I removed the bandages, I saw myself with cuts and bruises. That's when I cried and felt like I betrayed myself. Sinaktan ko ang sarili ko.” Her daughters Alyssa and Gabby were with her as she recovered, tending her wounds and changing her bandages. “After I had the procedure done, my daughters made me promise not to go under the knife again.” Unfortunately, she gained back the weight. To make matters worse, she was recently diagnosed with hypothyroi...

Motts In Can Event

We were invited by Ate Joy to drop by at the Mott's 100% Apple Juice event last May 27 since we were already around BGC at that time. The setting reminded me of picnic parties in the park somewhere abroad, in an orchard or a farm. The sunny afternoon, the table decorations, food, and ofcourse, Mott's super delicious and refreshing apple juice. Here are some of the pictures from the launch of Mott's 100% apple juice in can: (Photos courtesy of Occasions of Joy)

Lock&Lock's "National Pa-Baon Month"

It took my sister, Ate Joy of www.occasionsofjoy.com long years to persuade me in creating and publishing my own blog. I created several  blog accounts before, but I quickly lost interest in updating it or not really posting anything at all. So this time, I told her I’d be serious and follow her footsteps. After all, she made herself quite famous by blogging just about anything that comes into her mind! Hehehe! At first, I wasn’t that interested since I was working and does not have the time to really sit down and write something. This time however,  I decided that I will start blogging to maximize my time and keep myself busy since I have stopped working and currently (and proudly!) a stay-at-home mommy since 2014. Finally last week, I attended global brand Lock&Lock, a leader in food container technology, as they declare June 2016 as their first “National Pa-baon Month”. As a mom, this is very applicable since I have a 5 th grader who brings her own baon to sc...
